HOW DO YOU SPELL P-A-N-I-C
The Red Sox, Rays and Astros all lost on Tuesday and fell to 0-4 to start the season (Brewers also started 0-4, but won their first game Tuesday night). But do these three teams have a shot at bringing home the pennant? The only team in major-league history to reach the World Series after starting a season with four straight losses was the 1985 Cardinals, who lost to the Royals in 7 games.

YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST
Danielle Adams scored 30 points, a new school record for points in NCAA Women's Championship play, as Texas A&M won its first National Championship. One night after Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun became the oldest coach in Men's Basketball Championship history to win a National Championship, Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair became the oldest Women's Basketball coach to win a National Championship.

BUCKING THE TREND
Baltimore is 4-0 for first time since 1997. The Orioles have a 1-game lead very early in the AL East this season and is one of the last three remaining unbeaten teams in the majors (with the Reds and Rangers). Buck Showalter managed his first game with the Orioles last season on August 3. If the 2011 season began when Showalter managed his first game with Baltimore on that date, the Orioles would have a 4.5 game lead in the division - and only the Phillies would have a better record in all of baseball.

HEAT RISING
The Heat face off against the Bucks Wednesday Night, 8 ET on ESPN. Miami is currently tied with Boston for second in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the Chicago Bulls for first place. The Heat have won 11 of their last 13 games following their season-high five-game losing streak. One cool nugget of information: LeBron James (28.1 PPG) and Dwayne Wade (26.6) rank 1st & 2nd in scoring since the All-Star Break.

Yovani Gallardo pitches his 3rd career shutout, allowing just 2 singles. 18 of his 27 outs were groundouts. He is the first Brewers pitcher to throw a shutout within the team's first 5 games of the season since Chris Bosio in 1989. And he's also the first pitcher to throw a shutout, allowing 2 hits or fewer, within his team's first 5 games since Felix Hernandez for the 2007 Mariners. Braves lose for just the 2nd time in their last 8 games in Milwaukee.

Melky Cabrera notched his 8th career walk-off hit as the Royals defeated the White Sox in 12 innings. Our friends at Elias have pointed out, all four of the Royals' wins have come in their final at-bat, matching an American League record. Only two other A.L. teams had their first four wins come in their final at-bat: the 1901 Tigers and 1989 Royals.

TWO CENTS WORTH
"I hope there's a chance for a quarterback competition this year. Every position, I think we need to put more competition into it."

Cowboys' tight end Martellus Bennett stated during a Tuesday appearance on ESPN 103.3's Ben & Skin Show, that Jon Kitna deserves a chance to retain his starting job.

"I voted for who I thought was the best team in the country based on the entire body of work during the season. I believe it is Ohio State. I want to congratulate Connecticut for winning the NCAA tournament. They deserved it."

Northern Arizona coach Mike Adras told USA Today why he voted Ohio State, not NCAA Tournament Champion Connecticut, No. 1 in the final ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. Adras said he also put Kansas No. 2 before voting for UConn third on his ballot.
